Aranwa is a winery and vineyard located in Mendoza Province, they have over 80 hectares of vineyards located in three different areas. There are 80-year-old vines in Lujan; 50-year-old vines in Maipu; and the youngest vines are in the new up and coming area of Vistaflores in the Uco Valley. Aranwa means 'legend' in the native Argentine language and is recognition of the long traditions of farming and viticulture.


This case of six wines contains a bottle each of their four Reserve wines which have all been aged in oak barrels. There's also a bottle of the Bonarda and a bottle of Malbec which have each been very lightly oaked.


Aranwa Bonarda Reserve

Bonarda is the varietal Argentinians often choose over Malbec and this is a stunning example, they don't tend to ship much of it overseas. This award winning wine has aromas of liquorice, black and red cherry with a touch of vanilla, rhubarb and chocolate; lovely smooth tannins and a velvety finish. Tomato based dishes and herbs found in southern Europe and the Levant work perfectly with this Bonarda. Rosemary, sage, garlic, thyme partner well.


Aranwa Cabernet Franc Reserve

The vineyard producing these grapes is located in Maipu, where the dry and arid climate of Mendoza province produces fruit of the highest quality. This is a powerful big bodied wine. A Cabernet Franc for oak aged Malbec drinkers. Leather on the nose with a touch of tobacco and bright red strawberry and raspberry on the tongue, smooth, delicious and easy drinking. Pair with a traditional Sunday lunch, BBQs and cheese boards or can be enjoyed without food. Like its Malbec cousins this Aranwa is perfect for meaty and rich dishes, whether this is tomato based pasta, lamb, steak or mushrooms topped with miso or gorgonzola.


Aranwa Malbec Reserve

Winemaker Sergio Jimenez used Malbec grapes from vineyards in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza to craft this wonderful Malbec. Wine critic James Suckling has awarded the Aranwa Reserve Malbec 92 points, recognising the quality of this wine. Beef and lamb are ideal with this Malbec. Or try BBQed sausages and burgers with fried onions and a spicy sauce. Can also work well with richer tomato based dishes topped off with a strong salty cheese such as parmesan.


Aranwa Chardonnay Reserve

100% Chardonnay from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. The grapes were destemmed and crushed before fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks for 30 days at 16°C. Then aged for 4 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels enabling great fruit flavours to come through with a background of butter and honey.


Aranwa Bonarda

100% Bonarda grapes from their vineyards in Maipú, Mendoza province. The grapes were handpicked during the first week of April with the aim of preserving the purity of the natural aroma of the Bonarda grapes. 20% of this wine has been aged for 2 months in American oak barrels to give it a hint of vanilla and spices. A great wine with a strong personality, well integrated acidity, and round tannins.


Aranwa Malbec

This Malbec comes from a vineyard located in Maipú, Mendoza, positioned where great sun exposure allows for perfect ripening of the fruit. The grapes were hand picked in the last week of March, de-stemmed and crushed, and then fermented in steel tanks for 10 days. Next 20% of the wine was aged In American oak barrels for 2 months before bottling.
