The 2018 is proving to be one of the best vintages yet and always sells out at wine tasting events.

So, if you are a fan of Northern Spanish vino tinto and curious to try Tempranillo from another country, we urge you not to miss this beauty of a wine.

Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, picked in early March, from 50-year-old vines. The wine was aged for 6 months in a mix of 70% French and 30% American oak barrels. 12 months rest in the bottle allows this wine to develop to its full potential. This wine is big, yet subtle – the mark of exquisite winemaking, and superb quality.

This wine vegan suitable.

Tempus Alba Tempranillo

£18.00Price
  • Type: Red

    Grape: Tempranillo

    Year: 2018

    ABV: 14%

    Region: Maipú, Mendoza

Food: Tomato based dishes and herbs including rosemary, thyme and sage are an ideal pair for this wine, as are roast vegetables and most Italian food. Beef, lamb, pork and game also pair well, but we love this wine and often drink it without food. Just decant for an hour beforehand.

Tasting Notes: Good structure and great complexity in this Tempranillo with well balanced tannins and a rich red-purple colour. The nose holds pepper and tobacco with a touch of dill and vanilla, while the flavours burst through with black berries and cinnamon. The tannins on the 2018 are softening beautifully and will even further with ageing.
