The Primeras Vinas wines from Bodega Lagarde are an exclusive collection of wines that are made from carefully chosen parcels of land within some of the most prestigious vineyards. This Malbec comes from the high altitude appelation of Gualtallary where the land is very highly sort after. The wine was aged for between 16 and 18 months in a French oak vat and then spent another 12 months in the bottle.

This wine is a wonderful example of the appelation to be enjoyed now and it will age beautifully over the next 15 years.

Pimeras Vinas Gualtallary Malbec

  • Type: Red

    Grape: Malbec

    Year: 2019

    ABV: 13.5%

    Region: Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza

Food: This superb Malbec needs to be decanted an hour before serving. It will work wonderfully with grilled red meats, strong cheeses and pasta dishes of all shapes and sizes. It will also pair with stews, game dishes, vegetables such as suffed potatoes, baked pumpkins and peppers.

Tasting Notes: A lovely intense violet red colour, with delicate floral notes on the nose. This wine does not overwhelm you with the oak ageing it has had, rather it is perfectly balanced with smooth tannins and a lovely long finish. A wine to savour.
