This torrontes is new to the Ruta40 portfolio and we're delighted to have it on board. The Cafayate Valley in Salta province in the north of Argentina has some of the highest vineyards in the world and these grapes grew at an altitude of 1700m above sea level. The high altitude means extreme temperature swings between night and day, thickening the skin and increasing the phenolic material of the grapes. Hand picked in mid-March the grapes went into stainless steel tanks for the fermentation and then straight to the bottle.
Region: Cafayate, Salta Province
Food: This Torrontes is perfect for pairing up with any spicy menu you have planned. Asian dishes will not overwhelm it all, Japanese teriyaki, Chinese spices or lighter Indian food pairing works particularly well. Or just sit back and enjoy it without food.
Tasting Notes: This excellent torrontes has the trademark strong floral nose. In the mouth there is beautifully balanced acidity with flavours of tropical fruits and a citrus background.
