The grapes for this outstanding wine come from two vineyards in the Uco Valley. Firstly there is the La Consulta Old Vines vineyard where the vines are nearly 70 years old contributing lots of rich red and blue fruit flavours to the wine. Secondly the vines in the La Consulta vineyard are a mere 25+ years old and bring more minerality and balance.
The inspired pairing of the two, plus 14 months in French oak barrels, produces a beautifully balanced wine that is soft and smooth with good acidity and a fine finish. Drink now or lay it down for another 10 years.
