Here's an approach we like -
When Anne-Caroline Biancheri wanted to settle down and start a family she began by looking for the right piece of land. She found it in the Uco Valley - a stunning place, backed by the Andes and with perfect wine-growing potential.
Anne-Caroline named this spot Antucura - "sun stone" in the tongue of the Mapudungun. It was apt. The "stone cradle" of soil is perfect for drainage as well as warming the vines through cool, clear nights.
Varietals for planting were chosen from similar grounds in Pomerol: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are stand-outs, as well as the later growths of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The Pinot Noir and Syrah are tipped to be exceptional.
If you're ever in the Uco Valley, visit Antucura for its brilliant library, its plush spa, its fine food, and, of course, its super-premium wine.
If you're a little further away we can do the wine.
